Choose your Ergonomic Training
A training company in Derby had a team of field workers with a high incidence of back pain and other problems, all of which were aggravated by driving. Many of the team had had time off as a result and the manager was keen to see if anything could be done to help improve the situation.
It was suggested that a ½ day training programme in driver ergonomics followed by individual reviews of their cars and driving posture would be the best option. A follow-up after the training showed that most of the field workers found the training beneficial. It allowed them to make suitable adjustments in their car and identify appropriate features for car selection. It was even found that some field workers benefited by changing their cars with other team members as certain designs suited their colleagues more.
